Abstract
This article aims to analyze the stage of progress and flow of studies on responsible disposal of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) and consumer behavior. To this end, a systematic review was carried out. The search generated 537 potentially relevant references, and after the selection steps the final sample included 50 articles, which underwent bilbiometric analysis and thematic-categorical content analysis. The research is recent, most were published in the last five years (2019-2023), addressing topics such as: responsible disposal behavior and intention; environmental knowledge and awareness; home storage of disused electronics; influence of information and advertising; perception of the useful life of electronics, influence of Word-of-Mouth (WOM); and selling disused electronics on C2B platforms. The main research gaps found are: influence of planned obsolescence and psychological obsolescence; influence of financial rewards; concern about data privacy; sale of disused electronics on C2B and C2C platforms; and studies associating responsible disposal and social desirability.
