Reflexões sobre as cotas de gênero à luz da teoria crítica feminista de Nancy Fraser
Abstract
Faced with the growing academic and organizational debate on gender, we turn our attention to the female participation quota systems adopted in different countries. However, the affinity of these systems with the effective gender equality claimed by feminist movements is questioned. From this, the objective was to weave a reflection on gender quotas in organizations in the light of the teachings of the feminist approach of Nancy Fraser, who is committed to social justice and the emancipation of women. The theoretical articulation revealed that gender quotas are part of structures supported by the capitalist system and patriarchy and, therefore, cannot break with gender oppression. In the short term, quotas can fulfill the role of increasing the number of women at the top and in different layers of organizations, but in the long term, they do not contribute to structural changes.
