Abstract

The inquiries and hypotheses presented in this article compose a provisional field of investigations around the link between body, monstrosities and creation in dance. Initially starting from an approach of cultural studies and moving to reflections on modes of production of dance of the now, we seek to investigate the impact of theories of monstrosity when tensioned to the processes of creation in dance to the extent that they can reveal paths and possibilities for the production of strangeness in body experiences, affection and sensitivities. This movement seeks to elucidate a possible connection between creation in dance and processes of subjectivation.

Marcos Katu Buiati é artista da dança e pesquisador. Docente do Instituto Federal de Brasília, onde lidera o DES – Núcleo de Pesquisa e Criação em Dança. Mestre em Performances Culturais pela Universidade de Goiás, atualmente é doutorando em Artes Cênicas na Universidade de Brasília, onde pesquisa processos de criação em dança na interface com as monstruosidades, a literatura e a psicanálise.
