Approaching cultures, arts and their teaching in Latin America involves complexity due to the way we were colonized and how we fought to preserve our traditions and ancestors. The Spanish and Portuguese Iberians, great navigators of the 16th century, symbolically subverted the lives of the people who lived here through the Treaty of Tordesillas. Nevertheless, when imposing their cultural ideology and trying to kill indigenous cultures, with their rituals, traditions and spiritualities, they faced resistance from native people. Successive acts of violence against indigenous communities, against women, and against those who are different; reflect on the works of artists. To think about countercolonialism, a term used by Nêgo Bispo, we must take into account feminist art/education, with more Brazilian and Latin American and inclusive authors to base our research on, raising the questions: What can we do? What is this countercolonial art/education?
