The research group FIGAS (Feminisms, Images, Genders, Arts and Sexualities) invited participants of the International Art/Education Meeting: research groups enREDE to experiment with the research group's contaminated approach to research. In the immersive action, we performed a wild reading of excerpts from selected books, looking for theoretical inputs to attack a triggering question: “How to collectively create a strange body?”. During the discussion, the question changed and we began to investigate how to collectively construct a monstrous body. The visual representations that emerged from the discussion were incorporated into the collective mural “Strange Bodies”, part of the exhibition Marginal (A)traction at the IA-UNESP Gallery. Here, we re-elaborate this mural in the form of a visual essay for an academic publication.
