Abstract

This essay presents images of itineraries of the ethnographic research that I developed in the master’s degree, in which I tried to understand the construction of the intelligibility of the events about pichação/graffiti in Santa Maria. These visual narratives suggest inversions, recombination, and semantic overflows of binary categories (legal / illegal, clean / dirty, right / wrong, light / shadow, beautiful / ugly …) that tend to set the tone of public debate on the subject. Heterodox forms of classification.
