Aesthetic Formation as Another Possibility of Looking at the Cinema from Education

Abstract

This essay intends to discuss the relationships between education and cinema by focusing the presence of the films in formal and non-formal educative projects. We develop our arguments in two approaches: in one of them, we analyze the early relations between this two areas in Brazil; in the other one, we take as starting point an exploration research with children, at Rio de Janeiro, and a Frenchman Culture Ministry’s project for the diffusion of the cinema in the school to consider the aesthetic formation as another possibility of looking at the cinema from the education.
