Fragments on the Routinization of Childhood

Abstract

This articIe introduces
some points that show the importance of routine as a central category in child education.
In the beginning I try to point out the difference between the routine and the
quotidian, where the quotidian is considered a daily life concept and routine is a tool
that organizes a Iife style. I demonstrate how concepts about childhood have been
created during the modem times and, as a consequence, plans have been made concerning
infantile education. Finally I indicate the creation of creches, day care centers,
kindergarten and educational practices carried on inside of them as responsible for the
routine in child education.
