Abstract

The commitment with the feminist thought has promoted the emergence of many artistic productions that are dedicated to (or allow to problematize) important issues about the women, like the series “One day at a time” (2017). In this series, the feminist struggle can be problematized from (no) feminist sayings (re)produced in and by the series itself, originally in English, translated into other languages, including Portuguese. Therefore, in this scientific article, we aim at analyzing and understanding possible meaning effects from translation mo(ve)ments that seem to (un)veil the feminist struggle. Involving the study of possible meaning effects from translation mo(ve)ments, we are based on the Discourse Analysis, especially on the notions of “silence” and “silencing” developed by Orlandi (2007 and 2008), thinking about a reflective approach on the translation. These notions allow us to problematize meaning effects in the relation with (no) excluded meanings that seem to (un)veil the feminist struggle.
