Guardados de uma avó: cartas que ecoam na memória do tempo presente (1960-1979)
Abstract
The paper aims to analyze a set of letters and reflect upon the memory in the history of present time. This is a set of 30 letters, written primarily in German, kept by my paternal grandmother, a woman of Pomeranian heritage, with little education who, during her life, worked in agriculture. The letters were sent from the state of Paraná to Rio Grande do Sul by my paternal grandfather’s sister, when she and her family went to live in the new state. We discuss the keeping of personal archives and the memory through letters as documental sources, seeking to interpret social practices, social networks, family nuances, among other aspects of a geographical nature and the work in the land, anchored in the relation between memory and history.
