Roturas e permanências da educação portuguesa no século 19
Abstract
Esta investigação tem por objetivo identificar os movimentos de ruptura e de permanência que caracterizaram a educação portuguesa no século 19. O trabalho está estruturado sob três eixos: a) o retorno a um pombalismo sem Pombal, traduzido na aspiração à reorganização do sistema educativo, desviado do seu impulso inicial pela política da "viradeira"; b) os impulsos reformadores de 1836 e os seus efeitos de modelação futura; c) a política educativa da monarquia constitucional e a intervenção de novas forças sociais, políticas e culturais no interior do sistema escolar e do sector extra-escolar da educação.

Abstract
This investigation aims at identifying the rupture and permanence movements that characterized 19th century portuguese education, and is organized over three axes: a) a pombalism return without Pombal, manifested in the longing for reorganization of the educational system which was deviated from its initial impulse by the "viradeira" politics; b) the 1836 reforming impulses and their future modeling effects; c) educational politics of the constitutional monarchy and new social, political and cultural forces on the school system and outside the educational sector.
