Algumas indagações sobre o silêncio em torno da 6ª Conferência Nacional de Educação
Abstract
O presente artigo trata de uma investigação sobre a 6ª Conferência Nacional de Educação ocorrida em Fortaleza, no ano de 1934, sob a coordenação do então diretor da Instrução Pública do Ceará, Joaquim Moreira de Sousa. A pesquisa foi instigada pelo silêncio em tomo da mesma por parte da historiografia educacional brasileira. Buscou-se recuperar o significado que teve para o meio educacional local, a representação de educadores que recebeu, bem como, o teor do debate político ali desencadeado e a especificidade do seu relatório final para, com esses elementos, melhor compreender o papel efetivo que teve aquela Conferência na posterior definição de um Plano Nacional de Educação.

Abstract
The present article is about an investigation on the 6th National Conference of Education - held in Fortaleza, in the year 1934, under the co-ordination of the director of the Public Education Department of Ceará, Joaquim Moreira de Sousa. Urged by the silence of the Brazilian historiography for education around it, aiming to rescue its significance to the local educational environment, the presence of influent representatives of the educational arena which participated on it, as well as, the content of the political debate there occurred, and the uniqueness of its final report, so that, with such elements, better understand the effective role which such Conference performed on the definition of a National Education Plan later on.
