Abstract

Resumo

Este artigo pretende tecer algumas considerações acerca dos cruzamentos entre história e literatura, ilustrando o produtivo intercâmbio que tem sido operado por investigadores dessas duas áreas, extensivo a quem trabalha com História da Educação. Ao se examinar certas obras memorialísticas de autores nacionais, não resta dúvida de que as primeiras experiências com a escola foram fatos marcantes na vida das pessoas, tanto quanto o são, hoje, nos relatos autobiográficos de professoras e professores. Nesses escritos evidenciam-se de que modo práticas escolares eram desenvolvidas em diferentes tempos e espaços, desvelando tensões,conflitos, alegrias e surpresas experimentadas por aqueles que se dispuseram a rememorar sua infância e juventude e nas quais a escola, seus mestres e o cotidiano foram temas recorrentes.

Abstract

This paper intends to make some considerations concerning the interrelations between history and literature, illustrating the productive exchange that has been carried out by researchers of those two areas, extensive to those who work with History of Education. If one examines certain life stories of national authors, there is no doubt that their first experiences at school were outstanding facts in their lives, as much as male and female teachers’ autobiographical reports are nowadays. In those writings the way that school practices were developed indifferent times and spaces is evidenced, revealing tensions, conflicts, joys and surprises experienced by those willing to remember their childhood and youth, which the school, their teachers and daily activities were recurring themes.
