Abstract

This article presents results of a research that sought to study the historical configuration of intellectuals who participated in the creation and implementation of the educational policy of the Civil Military Dictatorship in Chile (1973-1990). Methodologically, a structured prosopographic analysis was carried out based on the consultation of various sources. As a result, key data from the individual biographies and the description of emerging profiles within the group of these intellectuals are presented. The conclusions show a group that is mostly male and originally from Santiago, middle-aged and with a short average tenure in public office, with a varied professional training developed in national and international institutions. It was also concluded that the emerging profiles describe varied groups, both in their academic training, composition of their members and ideological orientations, and it was also possible to identify some professionals with relevant experience within the educational field and qualified training.

Profesor de Historia y Ciencias Sociales, Licenciado en Educación y Magíster en Educación, Mención Didáctica e Innovación Pedagógica, por la Universidad Academia de Humanismo Cristiano (UAHC), ubicada en la ciudad de Santiago, Chile. Doctor en Educación por la Universidad Federal de Minas Gerais (UFMG) ubicada en la ciudad de Belo Horizonte, Brasil.

Mis áreas de interés de investigación se vinculan con la historia de la educación, políticas educativas, formación docente, trabajo docente y enseñanza de la historia.

Actualmente me desempeño como Profesor e Investigador del Departamento de Educación Básica y del Centro de Investigación en Educación de la Universidad Metropolitana de Ciencias de la Educación (UMCE).
