Abstract

Wood presents itself as an excellent structural material, therefore, engineered products such as Cross Laminated Timber (CLT) emerge to overcome the limitations of its raw form. In this sense, considering that the current calculation methods for CLT, presented by regulations, for example, the gamma method, are one-dimensional and do not reflect reality, the correction of the gamma method was proposed for estimating the stiffness of bi-supported CLT plates, subject to load concentrated in the center of the span. The correction regression model was made possible through a parametric study, numerical simulations and statistical analysis. Thus, the α-corrector regression model showed good accuracy with a curve coefficient (R²) of 77.12% and Pearson's p-value of 0.005861%, which classified the equation with excellent significance. Therefore, the corrected equation when compared to the gamma method presented results closer to the numerically simulated three-dimensional models, with an average percentage error of 1.20% and standard deviation equal to 0.93%.
