This article aims to reinvigorate the work of psychiatrist Nise da Silveira (1905-1999), relating it to the current fields of the clinic and mental health. Nise da Silveira is recognized for fighting aggressive methods of treating mental suffering, for working with schizophrenic patients, mainly through expressive activities, and for the extensive impact of her work on Brazilian culture. The concepts of Nise da Silveira's work, highlighted in this article, are innumerable states of being, external world and internal world and catalytic affect, discussed in order to update the proposition of her eminently human clinic, which does not neglect the management of the unconscious. nor does it obscure its role as a catalyst for social change.
