A partir de discussões desenvolvidas no interior de processos de pesquisa, formação, trabalho e intervenção com políticas públicas no Estado de Sergipe, este artigo tem por objetivo analisar/problematizar/vitalizar conceitos e noções que figuram no campo das práticas de saúde voltadas para o cuidado em álcool e outras drogas: saúde, droga, vulnerabilidade, inclusão/exclusão, redução de danos, cidadania, território. A intenção de analisar e problematizar conceitos tem o intuito, por um lado, de desencaminhar formas naturalizadas de planejar e produzir cuidado em álcool e outras drogas e, por outro, de vitalizar tal campo, na medida em que tais problematizações podem trazer consigo a força de ampliar sentidos e qualificar modos de intervenção, em vez de se traduzirem em práticas, discursivas e não discursivas, de ajuste, desqualificação e homogeneização do social.
