Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The text follows the style standards and bibliographic requirements of the SBC (Brazilian Computing Society) article model, which can be downloaded at https://seer.ufrgs.br/index.php/InfEducTeoriaPratica/libraryFiles/downloadPublic/829
  • The submitted text must be unpublished and not being evaluated for publication by another journal.
  • The text must be sent in an editable format compatible with text editors: doc, docx or rtf
  • Author data must only be entered in the specific fields of the submission form. All authors must be indicated at the time of submission in the order of co-authorship. Once the evaluation process has started, no changes will be permitted either in the number of authors (addition or removal) or in the order in which they were inserted.
  • Authors must remove data that allows author identification, otherwise they will be returned. To remove this identifying data in Word, use the menu “File” > “Information” > “Check for problems” > “Inspect document” > “Inspect” > “Remove all”.
  • The authors and co-authors agree with the content expressed in the work, and they comply with the ethical criteria of their area.
  • Authors must carefully follow the journal's editing guidelines, after approval of the manuscript, and it is the authors' express responsibility to comply with them, as well as the spelling check and technical standards required by the editorial board when editing the journal's issue. Failure to comply with these criteria may result in the manuscript being archived (non-publication)
  • An author can only subscribe to one article per issue.
  • Articles must be written in Portuguese (preferably), English, Spanish

Author Guidelines

Texts must be unpublished, in Portuguese (preferably), Spanish or English, with the content, linguistic correction and style being the responsibility of the author.

The selection of articles takes as a reference their contribution to the specific area and editorial line of the magazine, the originality of the theme or the treatment given to it, the consistency and rigor of the theoretical approach.

Articles that do not focus on IT in educational contexts will be rejected by editors and will not undergo peer review.
Articles that do not have a Methodology section will be rejected by the editors, and will not undergo peer review.
Articles whose Abstract does not clearly present the motivation and research questions, methodology and results will be rejected by the editors and will not undergo peer review.
Articles outside the journal model will be rejected, and authors must resubmit.
Review articles that do not meet the following criteria will be editorially rejected:
Clearly present the research questions
Justify the need for a bibliographic review.
Reflections and critical positioning regarding the works, demonstrating mastery over literature.
Justify when international databases are not included.
Clarity in the methodological stages of searching and selecting works to be analyzed.


After the conference by the editors, each article is examined by two external reviewers from the journal's ad hoc team or members of the Editorial Board, using the blind peer review system, requiring two favorable opinions for its publication.It is important to highlight that the author can only sign one article per issue.

The article must be sent to the editorial committee, through the submissions page (after logging into the system), in the following form:

Name of each of the authors and institution, as it should appear in the publication (in full, in full, only first name and last name, etc.) in the fields intended for filling out the metadata. It is important to highlight that, once approved, there is no possibility of including the names of co-authors in the work to be published;
Title of the article in the original language of the text, and in English, not exceeding 15 words, in Arial font, size 16 for the title in the source language and size 12 for the title in English;
Informative summary, in the original language of the text and in English, containing up to 150 words, indicating to the reader the theoretical, thematic and problematic context of the article, purposes, methodology, results and conclusions of the article, in such a way that they can dispense with consulting the original. It must consist of a sequence of concise and objective sentences;
Keywords (three to five), in the original language of the text, separated by a period, and with capital letters, representing the content of the article;
Body of the Text, which must not identify the authors, must faithfully present the same titles indicated, followed by the development of the article's content, including figures and tables (the author's name will be inserted in the submission form, in the fields intended for filling out the metadata);
The file submitted must be Microsoft Word or similar (.doc, docx or rtf);
Articles must have a limit of 33,000 to 50,000 characters with space, including summary and abstract, titles, endnotes and bibliographic references;
Reviews, as well as reports and discussions of ongoing research or experiences, must have 1,500 to 3,000 words with the same format as described above, and may exceptionally exceed this limit, at the journal's discretion, after consulting the editorial board;
Theses summaries – related to the journal’s central theme – must be 150 to 500 words long;
Articles accepted for publication in the In Focus and Point of View sections have autonomy in their presentation format;

The author(s) guarantee that the work is original and their own authorship, with the exception of some passages of text, figures, photos and data, whose source is clearly referenced and, where necessary, are accompanied reproduction permission issued by copyright holders.

Copyright for articles published in this journal remains with the author, with first publication rights for the journal. By virtue of appearing in this public access magazine, the articles are free to use, with their own attributions, in educational and non-commercial applications. Texts can be shared as long as copyright is respected under the Creative Commons Non-Commercial-ShareAlike 4.0 license.
