National Archives of Brazil Case in relation to Colombia And Australia

The article aims to discuss digital preservation policies for digital archival documents: what they are, criteria for their elaboration, levels for a digital preservation policy and their context in the Trusted Digital Archival Repositories, comparing the digital preservation policy structure of the National Archives of Brazil with the General Archives of the Nation of Colombia and the National Archives of Australia policies. The adopted methodology was the exploratory bibliographical and documentary research. The article brings, as results, the main preservation policy elements of the National Archives of Brazil, Colombia and Australia, as well as a comparison of the Brazil’s policy with the Colombia and Australia’s policies. We conclude that Colombian policy is much more compact, probably because it is associated with a much broader document that presents aspects of digital preservation, digital preservation actions, strategies and techniques, and cultural-level actions to ensure digital preservation. In relation to Australian policy, it was observed that it was more complete than Brazilian policy, addressing all its aspects, and bringing two more items: Research and Collaboration; Skills and Training, not covered by Brazilian policies.
