Abstract

This article analyses the international conjuncture of recent rapprochement between the two Koreas. It highlights the context of the balance of power in East Asia, with the development of north korean nuclear and missile capabilities and the Moon Jae-in south korean government, as well as the conexion among the theatres of conflict in East Asia and Middle East, followed by strategic interests of the United States in the hegemonic competition with China.
