MANAGEMENT OF CORPORATE RISKS IN A ROAD MODAL CONTAINER TRANSPORTATION COMPANY: A CASE STUDY UNDER THE PERSPECTIVE OF STRATEGIC ALIGNMENT
Keywords:
Organizational management, Strategic alignment, Corporate risk management,Abstract
The objective of this study was to investigate, from a strategic alignment perspective, how corporate risk management occurs in a large container transportation company. The procedures for the period 2014 and 2015 were analyzed. The results identified in the research show that the company is exposed to different types of risks, which may negatively impact the development of its operations. The identified events appear in all sectors analyzed and exert an influence that can lead to various types of loss, increased risk or rework. The research findings reveal that the company, despite having its strategic defined objectives, does not present a strategic alignment between these objectives and its operations. Actions of one unit tend to impact as actions of another. However, there is no clear understanding of all company employees about such relationships. Even with ISO 9001 certification, the results show that although the processes are defined, their understanding still lacks the consolidation effort in the company.Downloads
