THE EVOLUTION AND PROFILE OF CORPORATE GOVERNANCE IN BRAZIL: A SURVEY OF THE SCIENTIFIC PRODUCTION OF ENANPAD BETWEEN 1999 AND 2008

Abstract

This study aims to identify the profile of research and development of the theme corporate governance in the papers presented at the National Association of Postgraduation and Research in Administration - EnANPAD, from 1999 to 2008. For that, document analysis was made, applying the technique of content analysis, resulting in a sample of 114 Articles on the subject, object of study. Proceeded to analyze articles focusing on the main constituent parts: (a) authorship of Articles, (b) profile of authors, (c) theoretical, (d) methods and types of research used, and (e) references used. The survey results show that, about authorship, prevails Articles with two and three authors and 70.77% are male. Confirms the name of Wesley Mendes da Silva, Alexandre Di Miceli da Silveira and Pablo Rogers, as the authors the highest number of publications, and consolidate as a reference on the theme of corporate governance for their continuity participation in the congress on the period analyzed. As the theoretical foundation presented in the Articles, there was a concentration of research on the topic finances. However, from beginning of 2003 related to other areas started to be published. The classification method and type of research is still limited. It was found also significant changes in the number of references used in Congress, with a growth of 1,205% from 2000 to 2008. Thus, it is concluded that the study on the theme corporate governance in EnANPAD shows growth, since there was an increase of 360% in the number of papers approved from 2003 to 2008.
