Abstract

Digital games are globalized creation phenomenons that carry a cultural language replete of symbolic expression. Nevertheless, soccer is a sociocultural manifestation that operates through the creation and circulation of social representations. The aim of this study was to analyze the soccer athletes’ representation’s forms, most specifically the characters presentation/movements on Winning Eleven/Pro Evolution Soccer and on the games covers. It became evident that the games covers, the players’ physiognomy and their movement forms were influenced by the soccer mercantilist logic, showing a representation leaded to the consumption market.
