This paper introduces the special issue “Agribusiness, Science, and Technology.” Drawing on the emergence of new debates in rural studies and in Science and Technology Studies (STS), we propose that the Social Sciences revisit agribusiness as an analytical category and examine the operations that sustain its practices and agendas. We argue that the intersection between agribusiness and STS offers an original locus of enunciation capable of adding nuance to debates on the sector, particularly in Brazil. Rather than aiming to settle these debates or provide univocal directions, we underscore the multiplicity of agendas and analytical pathways that emerge from this encounter.
