Abstract

This article deals with a study conducted in the period of November/2000 to March/2001, at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN), Natalense Faculty to the Development of Rio Grande do Norte (FARN), Faculties of Natal (FAL) and Science, Culture and Extension Faculty of RN (FACEX), with an aim to identify the knowledge, abilities, values and attitudes present in the academic formation of managers at the higher education institutions of Natal. Methodologically, it is a descriptive-exploratory study about the higher education institutions of Natal. Among the study’s main conclusions, the following stand out: the pedagogic projects of the courses with respect to knowledge and abilities are very similar; there is no concern with values and attitudes in the pedagogic projetcs; the values and attitudes are transmitted through the professor’s posture in the class room and the need to rethink the pedagogic projects to incorporate the values and attitudes dimensions.
