Abstract

The aspects of the organizational culture are relevant factors for directing a company´s activities. The organizational culture relates to the basic thought that guides the actions of a manager, determining which direction will be taken when facing several alternatives for action. The purpose of this article is to identify traces of the organizational culture of a company that composes its management model, aiming to form a basic judgment  The bibliographical research pertinent to this study comprised the reading of the text, reflection, and criticism of the elements that form the organizational culture, including not only the aspects of planning, budgetting, control and evaluation of performance, and managerial information system, but also trying to understand, among other points, how these management process tools are dealt with in the companies. This study does not contemplate the hypotheses confirmation. It is exploratory-type reserach. In field research, enterprises were randomly chosen, comprising a sampling universe of 38 companies. The data search tool was a questionnaire with closed questions and an open issue. From the questionnaire answers, the possibilities of infering the cultural traces of a company are checked by means of conceptual analysis, techniques and decision models adopted on the several stages of a management process.
