VOLUNTARY WORK AND LEARNING IN THE ORGANIZATIONS - Interactions in the João Paulo II Hostelling

Since the middle of the 90s, initiatives for the valuing/promotion of voluntary work has been encouraged in Brazil, emphasizing the development of organized voluntary work, a modality of action which articulates management-business knowledge to the voluntary practice. Considering, however, the relationship among voluntaries and managers of voluntary workers, it was attempted to identify the form through which the community of the João Paulo II Hostelling has been constituted, so that ruptures in the activities of the institution is identified, such as the organizational learning. Throughout the analysis of documents, the observation of voluntary practices instituted and interviews with agents allocated, it was possible to constitute the articulation between the managers' ideal (Calabrian formation) and some of the knowledge made available in the action, which, when constituting shared vision, have enlarged the services rendered by the organization.
