Brazilian State Administrative Reform

Abstract

This research paper seeks to elucidate the intersections between the field of public administration and international processes. It commences with the premise that this particular area of study remains relatively unexplored within the Brazilian academic context, especially from the vantage points of administration and public management. Firstly, we contend that the integration of the State into the framework of the capitalist world-economy unveils instances of interference between these institutional dimensions. Subsequently, we posit that governance processes encompass the activities of international organizations on one facet and public administration on the other. In conclusion, we construct a narrative that delves into the infiltration of the New Public Management (NPM) paradigm in Brazil, portraying it as an outcome of international dynamics. The principal contribution of this study lies in the establishment of a theoretical-epistemic nexus between the local and the global, in the context of shaping State management procedures.
