Abstract

The research analyses the (in)visibilities, spaces and temporalities of the body in the circus in extension actions of Brazilian Universities. The method is based on the description of experiences and phenomenological reduction, using images and focus group meetings. The research findings indicate the perception of the body in circus practices as an expressive and educational potential. In addition, they suggest that the brazilian university extension needs to look more closely at the body in the circus, especially if we consider the growing demand for professionals, expansion of the number of shows, circus schools, among others.

Rita de Cassia Fernandes

possui pós-doutorado em Educação pela Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte (2022). Doutora em Educação pela Universidade Estadual de Campinas (UNICAMP, 2015). Mestra em Educação Física pela UNICAMP (2004). Tem experiência na área de formação de professores dos cursos de Educação Física e Pedagogia. Atualmente, é docente da Universidade Federal de Uberlândia (UFU) e do Programa de Pós-Graduação em Artes Cênicas (PPGAC) do Instituto de Artes/UFU.

Terezinha Petrucia da Nóbrega

é mestra em Educação pela Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN, 1995) e doutora em Filosofia da Educação pela Universidade Metodista de Piracicaba (1999). Atualmente, é Professora Titular da Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, coordenadora do Grupo de Pesquisa Estesia: corpo, fenomenologia e movimento e do Laboratório Ver - Visibilidades do Corpo e da Cultura de Movimento. Bolsista de Produtividade em Pesquisa CNPq.
