Circulation of meanings in a conservative interpretative community

In this paper, we aim to analyze the circulation of meanings in relation to three videos of the program Rasta News, affiliated to Brasil Paralelo. For this purpose, we debate the relationship between culture, communication, and movements by the conservative segment to participate in the cultural arena. Additionally, we discuss reception studies to articulate the notion of circulation and the formation of interpretative communities. The audience's meanings regarding the videos were collected massively through their comments, totalling 17,747 publications. This data was systematized with the software Iramuteq. We concluded that the conservative group that expressed themselves in the comments can be considered as an interpretative community, as there was cohesion between the comments and the meanings produced in the videos, whose content articulated: a) generic congratulations for the content presented; b) specific discussion points strictly related to the video's theme; c) production of dichotomies on the point under discussion and its adherence by the right and the left-wings. Some of the themes addressed were: the role of advertising; use of neutral language; and credibility of journalism.
