O consentimento informado é importante e se incorporou à prática na área da saúde, tanto na assistência quanto na pesquisa. Um dos grandes desafios do processo de consentimento informado tem sido a adequação dos textos utilizados. A legibilidade dos termos de consentimento é um dos grandes problemas para os comitês de ética em pesquisa, para os pesquisadores e para os participantes das pesquisas.
