A avaliação do projeto de pesquisa, feita pelos Comitês de Ética em Pesquisa, se baseia nos pareceres dados pelos seus membros. Um parecer pode abordar diferentes aspectos científicos, regulatórios, legais e éticos. Estes elementos servem também para orientar os pesquisadores sobre o que foi levado em consideração durante este processo e quais as eventuais modificações que são sugeridas ou solicitadas.
