Abstract

The content presented here refers to a study conducted preliminary on the panel "Contested - Earth Contested" the Hassis Artist, based on discursive semiotics. In this large painting, the artist presents a visual narrative of Sertaneja Contested War (1914-1916) whose images enable an invitation for reflection, not only as "visual report" of history, but as calling for the construction of a sense for visual text, to organize the look and direct you to another way of seeing and feeling the episode portrayed in it.

Author Biography

Rita Inês Petrykowski Peixe, Instituto Federal de Santa Catarina - IFSC - Itajaí/SC

Doutora em Educação pela Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS, 2012); Mestre em Educação pela Universidade de Campinas/Universidade do Contestado (UNICAMP/UnC, 2003). Especialista em Arte/Educação pela Universidade de Passo Fundo (UPF, 1999). Possui graduação em Educação Artística – Habilitação em Artes Plásticas pela Universidade do Oeste de Santa Catarina (UNOESC, 1995) e graduação em Pedagogia – Habilitação em Orientação Educacional pela Universidade do Oeste de Santa Catarina (UNOESC/UnC, 1995). Em 2011 desenvolveu Estágio de Doutorado Sanduíche na Universidade de Barcelona (Espanha), como bolsista da CAPES. Foi docente no Programa de Pós Graduação – Mestrado Profissional em Design (PPG Design) na Universidade da Região de Joinville (UNIVILLE). Atualmente atua como professora no Instituto Federal de Educação de Santa Catarina (IFSC) Câmpus de Itajaí (SC).
