In an audio testimony given to the event “Collaborative and Interdisciplinary Teaching”, Professor João Paulo Queiroz (Portugal) reflects on the complexity of contemporary society that results of the transition from modernity to postmodernity. That change can be characterized as a crisis in relation to an advanced and inclusive democracy of all dimensions of human development. Hybridization of contexts in a global world leads to the role of artistic and creative thinking within an interdisciplinary perspective, implying a special attention to art education. Without art education, citizenship and personal development are incomplete. He claims that interdisciplinarity is an essential vector to understand the role and the construction of the curriculum in contemporary art education.Downloads
