Abstract

This text celebrates 25 years of GEARTE, an Education and Art Research Group coordinated by Analice Dutra Pillar, by focusing on a significant way of being part of the Group, which, by sharing, shows that it is also possible to be at GEARTE. It has been developed in a narrative format, rescuing various activities around a common locus, UFRGS, which houses the Research Group in its Graduate Program in Education at the Faculty of Education. It is based on the academic experience of its author, Umbelina Barreto, in order to approach the depth of the research universe in its complex diversity, without disregarding the social role of the university and its core activity, which is teaching.

Author Biography

Umbelina Barreto, Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul — UFRGS, Porto Alegre/RS, Brasil

Possui graduação em Artes Plásticas: habilitação Desenho e Pintura pela Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (1978), mestrado em Filosofia pela Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio Grande do Sul (1994) e doutorado em Educação pela Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (2008). Atualmente é professora aposentada: associada, nível II, do Instituto de Artes da Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul. É membro do Grupo de Pesquisa em Educação e Arte (GEARTE) ligado ao PPGEDU da Faculdade de Educação da UFRGS. Possui experiência na área de Artes Visuais, com ênfase em Desenho e Pintura, e tem realizado produção regular em poéticas visuais, além de exposições no Brasil e no Exterior. Em suas pesquisas tem-se voltado, atualmente, sobre a Linguagem do Desenho e sobre a Epistemologia do Desenho.
