This article aims to articulate the concepts of the Triangular Approach of the Brazilian author Ana Mae Barbosa with the Art as an experience of the American philosopher John Dewey, to analyze the teaching practice as an investigation developed by the artist teacher/researcher in the context of painting teaching. For that, we developed, starting from the cited authors, an experimental research that intends the teaching practice and the artistic practice, consisting of metaphors and challenges, in the midst of the zig and zag of the Triangular Approach.
