Abstract

The relationship between urban art, in its diferente expressive forms, from graffiti to street art, and the ruin and abandoned builings, is as old as the practice itself. With this visual essay I aim to start from a very specific context — the site of the old Lisnave in Almada (Portugal) — to illustrate the coexistence of different forms of creativity, different practices and different meanings that underlie urban art, as a social world that is growing in complexity.
