Abstract

This photo essay uses images from daily life, and from a day of festivity, to evoke the human-horse bonds that are maintained in many Brazilian rural and semi-rural communities throughout the country. In this case, my lens captures moments of time I spent with members of a community in Serra do Cipó, in Minas Gerais. Adults and children, men and women who take part in local equestrian traditions, are heirs of a long local legacy, but adapt to the challenges of the present.
