Abstract

In this article, we intend to reveal some of Vigotski’s contributions to a reflection on transformative education. We begin with a presentation on education, a critique of conventional education, as well as reflecting on the act of transforming, going through the bases of movements for the renewal of Brazilian education, always intermingling with Vigotski’s thought, so that, finally, we present, more specifically, its direct contributions to so-called transformative education and some of its consequences.

Edson Cesar Marques Filho is a Doctoral Student in Education at the University of Brasília. Master of Science (Modality: Teaching Physics) by the Interunits Program in Science Teaching at the University of São Paulo (2011); Degree in Exact Sciences with specialization in Chemistry (2009) and Physics (2008) from the University of São Paulo. Electronics Technician at the State Technical School of São Paulo (1999).

Alessandra Possebon, Universidade de Brasília (UnB), Brasília/DF – Brazil

Alessandra Possebon has a PhD in Education from the University of Brasília (UnB). Master in Communication from the Universidade Estadual Paulista (Unesp). Postgraduate in Media, Information and Culture at CELACC-ECA/USP. Graduated in Social Communication with a major in Journalism from the University of Ribeirão Preto (Unaerp) and in Social Sciences from the Methodist University of São Paulo (UMESP).
