This work shows the different points of view on the militancies that have prevailed in the literature on party politics. It also calls attention to the need to perform empirical work. The scope of this work is to accommodate the existing literature, clarifying its contributions and limitations. Thus, the literature on party politics was adapted (both its segment focused on internal democracy, which idealizes the militant by presupposing its homogeneity, as well as the one referring to a militancy which is actually scarce in the Latin American context), based on where they place their attention (statutes or the reality of parties) and their goals (comparing or inquiring in depth).Downloads
