Estética escolar y regímenes emocionales en el centenario de la independencia (Chile, 1910).

El propósito de este texto es abordar un episodio de promoción de nacionalismo y patriotismo en el sistema educativo chileno, analizándolo brevemente a partir de los conceptos de estética escolar (PINEAU, 2014) y régimen emocional (REDDY, 2001). Por ello, se estudia las iniciativas desarrolladas para construir estética y afectivamente el sentimiento patrio en el contexto de los festejos por el Centenario de la Independencia de Chile (1910). En la medida que el motivo propiciatorio estaba integrado en una operación cultural de más amplia escala (la conmemoración del primer siglo de vida independiente), se generó tanto un tipo de acciones estéticas como de inducciones emocionales que, se propone en esta ponencia, tuvieron como característica integrar las dimensiones internas del espacio escolar con el espacio público mediante el recurso de actos de contenido público, desfiles, marchas y otros dispositivos tendientes a emocionar a estudiantes y público, galvanizando la convicción en el rol de la escuela como conjuro a la crisis de identidad nacional y a la Cuestión Social.
