Fontes para pesquisa da história da educação no Rio Grande do Sul na Primeira República
Abstract
O artigo trata da política de expansão do ensino no Rio Grande do Sul, no período de 1889-1930, apresentando um conjunto de fontes úteis para os estudos de história da educação, a nível regional. Neste estudo foram privilegiados, no conjunto da documentação utilizada, dados do orçamento do Estado, com o objetivo de destacar a validade das fontes quantitativas de caráter serial para a pesquisa em história da educação, especialmente no que tange à política educacional.

Abstract
The article refers to the politic of expansion education in Rio Grande do Sul during the period of 1889-1930, presenting a set of useful sources for the studies of educational history at the regional level. This study privileged, on the set of the used documentation, the data of the state budget. The objective was to point out the validity of quantitative resources of serial condition for the research in history of education, specially on what concerns the educational politics.
