Adoção da Cartilha Maternal na instrução pública gaúcha
Abstract
Este estudo objetiva analisar a adoção da Cartilha maternal, de autoria do poeta português João de Deus. Pelo exame dos relatórios da Instrução Pública produzidos entre o final do século 19 e início do século 20 (1890-1930) no Rio Grande do Sul. Esses relatórios apresentam a Cartilha maternal como o livro por excellencia dos meninos da escola, a partir do entendimento de que a mesma satisfaz as exigências do ensino, de acordo com as doutrinas da época. Cabe observar que tal análise terá como referência os Estudos Culturais e as contribuições da análise pós-estruturalista de Foucault, que enfatiza o caráter construtivo da linguagem. A adoção dessa cartilha e de outras adotadas na época, visibiliza a diversidade de doutrinas e métodos, bem como a aspiração por uma orientação pedagógica moderna, com a escola pública se inserindo no projeto político do governo republicano gaúcho.Palavras-chave: cartilhas, discursos, estudos culturais.
Abstract
This study aim at analyzing the adoption of Maternal primer, written by the portuguese poet João de Deus. Through the investigation of Public Education reports made at the end of the 19 century and beginning of the 20 century (1890-1930) in Rio Grande do Sul. Those reports present the Maternal primer as a book of excellence of the school’s boys, based on the awareness that it accomplishes the teaching demands, according to that time ideology. It is important to point out that this analysis will make reference to the Cultural Studies and the contributions of Foucault's post-structuralism analysis, which emphasizes the constructive feature of the language. The adoption of the Primer and other ones that were used at that time, show both the diversity of ideologies and methods and target an updated pedagogical orientation, having the public school taking part into the political project of the gaucho's republican government.
