Uma linguagem para a educação: notas sobre a recepção de Comenius no Brasil

Abstract

 

O artigo procura refletir sobre a contribuição de Comenius para o atual momento pedagógico, com base em estudos que traduzem sua recepção no Brasil. Argumenta-se que se vive um momento de transição, no qual a educação está em busca de uma linguagem, e que a partir deste ponto pode ser estabelecido um paralelo com Comenius que também viveu um tempo paradoxal, no qual se descortinavam, por um lado, as imensas possibilidades da modernidade, mas no qual também se vivia conflitos fratricidas e se começava a experimentar novas formas de exclusão. O texto enfatiza aspectos relativos à didática e às metáforas (orgânicas e mecânicas) presentes em sua reflexão pedagógica. Sinaliza ainda para a importância da interdisciplinaridade entre teologia e pedagogia, presentes em Comenius enquanto teólogo/bispo e pedagogo/professor.

Abstract

The article tries to reflect about the contribution of Comenius for the present pedagogical situation based on studies about the reception of his ideas in Brazil. It argued that we are living in a time of transition in which education finds itself in the search of a new language. At this point there is a parallel to Comenius, who also lived in a time of paradoxes, when at one side one could foresee the great promises of modernity, but when one also lived fratricidal conflicts and when exclusion started to present itself with new facets. The text emphasizes aspects related to didactics and to the metaphors (organic and mechanic) which can be found his pedagogical reflection. It also points to the importance of dialogue between theology and pedagogy, embodied in Comenius as theologian/bishop and pedagogue/teacher.
