Abstract
During the first periods or the National Territory or Neuquen, inmigration and nacionalism were closely related to the "chilean issue". The interest in considering the topic previously mentioned, comes from perceiving the recurrency with which the issue appeared in the press and scholary documents or rural school during that period, and the special consideration it was given. The almost exclusive presence or chilean inhabitants in the region and their strong resistence, to be incorporated in the dominant culture, made them a ''problematic population" in the light of the purpose or homogenity the argentinian state sought for schools. These ethnic groups were subordinated and relegated within the local and national politics, because they were considered responsible or ''Ia chilenizacion" or the argentine culture.
Keywords: history education, nacionalism, inmigration.
