Abstract
ResumoO presente trabalho tem por objetivo, através da análise da produção acadêmica na área de Educação Infantil e de História da Educação presente nas teses e dissertações defendidas entre 1987 e 2001 nos programas de Pós-Graduação de nosso país, apresentar elementos que forneçam uma visão ampla do que se tem pesquisado a respeito da história da Educação Infantil, apontando para as lacunas existentes neste campo.

Abstract
The aim of this paper is to present an analysis of the academic production in early childhood education and history of education that appears in doctorate thesis and masters degree dissertations between 1987 and 2001 in Brazil. This paper intends to present the variety of researches done in the field of early childhood education, looking forward for its floss.

LAS INVESTIGACIONES EN EL ÁREA DE LA EDUCACIÓN INFANTIL Y LA HISTORIA DE LA EDUCACIÓN: CONSTRUYENDO LA HISTORIA DEL ATENDIMIENTO A LOS NIÑOS PEQUEÑOS EN BRASIL
Resumen
Este trabajo tiene el objetivo de presentar elementos que suministren una visión amplia de lo que ha investigado la historia de la educación de la primera niñez a través del análisis de la producción académica en el área de la Educación Infantil y de la Historia de la Educación presente en las teses y disertaciones defendidas entre 1987 y 2001 en los programas de Pos-Graduación de nuestro país, apuntando así, los huecos existentes en este campo.
