A cultura escolar portuguesa pelo traçado literário do século XIX

Resumo
Este ensaio procura abordar o tema da escola primária em Portugal do século XIX, à luz de vestígios apresentados por textos lit erários, eruditos e populares. Assim, são enfocadas algumas imagens, pinceladas de obras clássicas, populares, por vezes anônimas, as quais, pelo registro da literatura, capturam descrições da realidade, mediante o entrelaçamento da figura do professor com a do aluno e a da aula; que, em seu conjunto, oferece subsídios para a reconstituição de recortes sociais do ambiente cultural que lhe conferia suporte.

Abstract
This work aims at approaching the elementary school matter in Portugal during the XIX Century, based on both popular and scholarly literary tests. Some registers about teachers and students relationship described by not only unknown but also classical authors are taken into considerat ion in an attempt to portray the society of that time.
