Ensaio de historiografia I: a arquitetura das escolas no século XX

Resumo
A história da arquitetura da escola primária se inicia por volta de 1950. Ela é essencialmente escrita por historiadores da educação e historiadores da arquitetura que por muito tempo consideravam as construções escolares como um tema marginal. Os primeiros se interessaram pelas teorias pedagógicas, os segundos pelas obras esteticamente mais importantes. Apesar dos pontos de vistas terem se modificado, o ritmo das publicações cresceu continuamente a partir de 1980. Este ensaio historiográfico oferece os grandes traços da escrita dessa história a partir de um exame que abarca cinqüenta anos de publicações (1950-2000) e diversos países, cinco dos quais foram objetos de investigações mais sistemáticas: Inglaterra, Estados Unidos, Suíça, França e Alemanha.

Résumé
L’histoire de l’architecture des écoles primaires débute vers 1950. Elle est essentiellment écrite par des historiens de l’éducation et des historiens de l’architecture qui ont longtemps considéré les bâtiments scolaires comme um sujet marginal. Les premiers s’intéressaient aux théories pédagogiques, les seconds aux oeuvres esthétiquement remarquables. Cependant, les points de vue ont changé et, depuis 1980, le rythme des publications ne cesse d’augmenter. Cet essai historiographique dégage les grands traits de l’écriture de cette histoire, à partir d’un examen embrassant cinquante ans de publications (1950-2000) et plusieurs pays dont cinq dans lesquels l’enquête a été menée de façon systématique: l’Angleterre, les Étads-Unis, la Suisse, la France et l’Allemagne.
