Nova fase da educação em Mato Grosso: o fim das escolas normais e a criação do curso de especialidade (1937-1947)
Abstract
The present article analyzes the government's intention to suspend the operations of the Normal School and integrate it into the Liceu course, aiming to identify the teacher training project proposed through the specialized course, during the period from 1937 to 1945.
The collection of documentary sources, carried out at the Public Archive of the State of Mato Grosso, in the collection of the State School Liceu Cuiabano "Maria de Arruda Muller", at the Center for Regional Historical Documentation and Information, at the Memory Institute of the Legislative Power, and in the Digital Newspaper Library of the National Library, provided evidence about the operation of the Specialization Course for teacher training, which remained in effect until 1947. The results indicated that the implementation of the Course did not fulfill the original objectives of the proposed project, impacting the quality of teacher training and leading to its termination in 1937.
