Formação de educadoras de infância no Estado Novo: Instituto de Educação Infantil (1954-1977)
Abstract
En este artículo se pretende analizar el proceso de formación de educadoras de infancia en Portugal, en la
segunda mitad del Estado Novo (1954-1974), con un enfoque en una institución específica: el Instituto de Educação Infantil. Se realizó un estudio de caso en el que se recurrió al análisis documental y a la realización de entrevistas a 10 exalumnas. El análisis de los datos, basado en el análisis de contenido cualitativo, se estructuró en torno a dos dimensiones: currículo y prácticas pedagógicas. Nuestros resultados permitieron observar que, en el proceso de formación, realizado con base en un currículo de carácter científico, centrado en las ciencias de la educación, la psicología y las expresiones, se combinaba el ideario educativo del régimen con influencias del movimiento de la Educación Nueva y de la pedagogía progresista. El objetivo principal era la formación de educadoras con una cultura sólida, reflexivas y creativas.
